Good Things 2008

OKAY! OKAY!

Yuck. This has been horrible. Just atrocious. And it's getting me down. So let's not go there. I am attempting the rise of a Pheonix from a smoldering fire. It feels. . . mighty, mighty painful but (eventually) painfully good. So here we go, starting from the top! Good things of 2008:

1. Body confidence. Running & biking & racing & PNF have been so kind. this year .So very, very kind. I am ready for a highschool reunion. PS I love you Elvis Costello.

2. Intensity. There was a lot of it this year: both enthralling & horrible. But at least I am aware that I am definitely alive. Definitely.

3. Silliness (in hats). And sometimes skirts. Usually with underwear but who knows. It's not 2009 yet & I still have a camping trip with a lake to endure.

4. Motorcycles. Motorcycles and beaches. Motorcycles and beaches and gyros. Yummy.

5. An amazing job. Seriously. Occupational therapy is amazing.

6. Trampolenes. I could really do a cheesey analogy here that would apply. But instead I will say just love flying.

7. My garden. And the neighbors who encourage every single planting. And each leaf and flower that decides to come out and sparkle for me. Details.

"Squint your eyes & look closer: I'm not between you and your ambition. I am a poster girl with no poster. I am thirty two flavors & then some. And I'm beyond your peripheral vision. So you might need to turn your head. And one day you are going to be starving, and eat all of the words that you just said." - ani difranco (oldschool encouragement :o) )
