I am the first to admit my memory is not the best in certain areas. I am not a passive learner and I certainly cannot remember a movie to save my life (which should, in theory, provide life long entertainment because I find the ending of The Usual Suspects always surprising). But there are memories that are locked solid in my little cranium and those usually have to do with experiential memory. Sensation- smell especially- will trigger a memory or face faster than I am often ready for. So it is no surprise that when I hear You Really Got a Hold on Me , my brain immediately reels to an uncomfortable-in-my-tummy feeling due to one of my earliest childhood memories from Sesame Street . Apparently, I am not the only child of the eighties who felt a little funny (not in a happy way) about this video and for that, I feel we all need to create a little group therapy to get over our fear of the letter U & this Beatles tune.
