The holiday craziness is over and now my little festering cold has taken over my body and I am stuck on the couch with Max, my computer, the first season of Family Ties, and a box of tissues. Argh... this is my third cold in three months! Prior to that, it had been over a year since I was last sick. Point being: couch time = crazy fun photoshopping collages of what I want my bathroom to look like. (Meanwhile, Ben and Chris are brewing an Indian Pale Ale which fills the house with a barley/ yeasty smell.)
Ask anyone around me and they will probably testify the following:
1. I have been stocking ideas for decorating my house since... probably I was five years old. I want to be an archetect after I toyed with the idea of being a dentist (when I was seven).
(Tree houses and secret gardens included)
2. I need to incorporate plants into every room without being a creepy green ivy person. Interesting, colorful, succulent plants in neat pots.
3. I like things clean. Even though I am not naturally neat. This translates into loving clean lines.
4. I prefer things around me to be asthetically pleasing. And a little left of center. Just a smidge odd. Otherwise, I would be super bored.
5. I want a cozy, safe place to host friends and family any time of the year and day.
6. A good sound system to pump up either the current or 30 Rock is essential. I want good music and sounds flowing through the house.
So, I decided I will start a home/ garden inspiration page for the monsters as well as start some of my own projects inspired by websites like
design sponge &
making it lovely. I am totally excited since nesting and gardening really have been at the forefront of my brain this past year. Again, I hope the whole monsters redesign will be completed by New Years. Hurrah!
