I've been journaling the old fashioned way for the past month with a graph paper spiral and pen. I feel like I haven't been able to write cohesively lately & am afraid this has not been cured yet. Hence my lack in blogs. I am trying to figure life out long handed before coming back to technical text. I have also been spending more time day dreaming/ scheming fiction. I love spending minutes or an hour before bed building characters and plot. Elizabeth and I had a writers date a few weeks ago where we re-ignited our love of creative writing for spring. On our very familiar Sheridan Road night cruise, we analyzed Leonard Cohen lyrics and the skeletons of our favorite literature. So here I am on a Friday night totally in love with my keyboard as I plot out characters in text for the first time since I created them. It's funny who I find in my "fiction": it's you. And you. And yes, probably even you. Does anybody know any good ghost stories? As in, real ghost events?0 comments
"Dismiss whatever insults your own soul, & your very flesh shall be a great poem & have the richest fluency not only in it's words but in the silent lines of its lips & face & between the lashes of your eyes and in every movement and joint of your body" -Michelle's favorite: Walt Whitman
No song is as raw & absolute rock as There She Goes My Beautiful World by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Okay, well there are a lot of rockin songs. But seriously. This one.
"I will kneel at your feet, I will lie at your door, I will rock you to sleep, I will roll on the floor, And I will ask for nothing, nothing in this life, Give me ever-lasting life. I just want to move this world."
