February is painfully sincere. It is not a month that pretends to hold the promise of spring as April does. It does not distract people from it's harsh weather patterns by showering us in Christmas spirit & crazy shopping sprees. It holds no promises and exposes us to the barest of trees, shrubs, & raw feelings. It is simply February: no glittery expectations.

According to the records, this winter is the fifth snowiest winter for Chicago. I must be honest and say that I have A-D-O-R-E-D this amount of snow and would consider moving to Manitoba if it meant this much snow every winter. My celebration of 27 Years of Excellence truly pulled me through February's usual freezing and thawing of emotions & life expectations. The following is a list of gifts that February had in store for me. Thank you thank you thank you.

* Driving solo through snowy upstate Wisconsin while singing with every song I've ever wanted to Karaoke
* A photo date n romp with Ben on my birthday- each luckiest of lucky days, ive loved, shall love, do love you was and will be and my birthday is (ee cummings)
* The gift of a massage from Grace with an 80's massage mix to cleanse every toxin collected this month
* Playing with a plastic head of lettuce in a pink kitchen every little girl has dreamed about with lil G
* The skinny on dating life in Rochester, MN as told by Lisa over delicious bread with olive oil
* Being privy to a private performance of collected songs from Peter Pan while entering the state of Minnesota
* Being one of two hosts for a radio talk show with Kelly
* Feet & feet & feet of white, powery snow
* Rasberry chai tea with Megan for so long that my bra smelled like The Coffee Grounds
* Being invited into the mind, writings, and drawing of Judith "The vulnerable moment- in the middle of an action- not the begining or the end"
* Singing the chorus to "I Just Called to Say I Love You" with my dear, sweet 82 year old patient (because every little and big girl is infatuated with the music of Stevie Wonder at some point)
* A perfect triathlon Friday & sweat that feels "good"
* The gift of a future romp in New York City to visit Miss Lisa L, sip tea, write, and play with springtime
* Dinner: a beer, a steak, a slice of apple pie, a spinach egg scrambler, the Molton chocolate volcano, portobello mushrooms, & familiarity with many old & new friends
* Shooting the breeze anywhere at any point in life
* Ice skating in the wilderness- something about the sliding

Thank you thank you thank you February & everyone in my life. Thank you.
