0 comments"Do not think of us next week. Not even once," Jenn told me with finality as she left work this afternoon. After my Jenny and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day episode yesterday (where Mark was shocked by my sudden Soprano language), Jenn counseled me on how to not let work rule my life. I adore most of my patients- the lovely man who says each therapist's name as though we are his fondest treasures, the little elderly woman who wears glitter foundation, the rowdy 17 year girl who calls me "Babe", etc- but unfortunatly they follow me home where I dwell on what could make them all better. I begin to question my profession when too many "why isn't my arm/memory/balance/finger all better by now?" Throw in a few demanding patient's and the result is a chapter out of Jenny and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Yuck!! (Even though the words "I am a raving bitch today" truly tickles all my coworkers. They bring me cupcakes to ease the pain.)
So this is why a vacation out east with Ben, Lisa, and Josh is exactly what I need. I will be out traveling, dining, photographing, dancing, and admiring blue mountains for the next week. I will be back next weekend-celebrating Ben and my (gasp!) year aniversary. Weirdness.
