We spent Saturday in north country helping friends rebuild their home after a lightning bolt stole the second story of their house last fall. It was exciting to be painting the walls yellow rather than demolitioning them as we did in October. Chicago weather has been a dream this week with temps in the seventies and a breeze that takes you on a vacation nostalgia. With all the windows wide open and a soft, country cross breeze throughout the house, we lingered on our ladders a little longer and listened to Ian sing with The Drive. Once the rooms were completed and just before sundown we took the motorcycles out for a ride among tall stalks of corn and a variety of deer that ran parellel to the road as we breezed past them. It was our mini-vacation for a few hours. Summer is so wonderful.

A very neat story about a sweet boy who is a patient of mine: The Journey Back.
