This Memorial Day weekend marked the anniversary of Ben & my engagement. Ben says that this is not an event that you celebrate with a fancy dinner so I fled to Minnesota to join friends for the long weekend. Megan, Lisa, & I toiled around in breakfast nooks & paper stores. Despite my pleads for Megan's hand crafted wedding invitations to be tangerine/ magenta colored, she stayed with our original design of a dappled baby blue accent on textured brown paper. Probably the best choice. We stumbled upon outdoor festivities and beautiful garden flowers that longed to come back to Illinois with me. In the evening, I joined Judith for our delicious dinner ritual (yummy eggplant lasagna) and she gave me a tour of all the drawings and paintings she will be featuring in an upcoming gallery show. I was also lucky enough to catch Lilian, Mamie, and Annette for my favorite chocolate chocolate cake before heading home, singing with Bjork's live recording on my most favorite radio station. It was truly a beautiful night.0 comments
